 1) Alphonse Pyrame, schweizerischer Botaniker, * Paris 27. 10. 1806, ✝ Genf 4. 4. 1893, Sohn von 2); war Professor in Genf, vervollständigte seines Vaters »Prodromus« und untersuchte die Ursachen der gegenwärtigen Pflanzenverbreitung, wobei er erstmals darauf hinwies, dass viele Fakten nicht durch gegenwärtig herrschende Bedingungen (z. B. Klima), sondern nur historisch erklärt werden können.
 
 2) Augustin Pyrame, schweizerischer Botaniker, * Genf 4. 2. 1778, ✝ ebenda 9. 9. 1841, Vater von 1); seit 1816 Professor in Genf, wirkte an den botanischen Gärten in Paris und Montpellier. De C. stellte eine natürliche Einteilung der Pflanzen auf, das »de-candollesche System«. Ihm lag eine Typentheorie zugrunde: die Annahme, dass die verschiedenen Arten Abwandlungen des Archetyps ihrer Gruppe seien.
 
Werke: Théorie élémentaire de la botanique (1813; deutsch Theoretische Anfangsgründe der Botanik); Prodromus systematis naturalis regni vegetabilis, 7 Bände (1824-40; von seinem Sohn auf 17 Bände erweitert).
